ROLE OVERVIEW

The Head of Client Accounts is responsible for effective leadership, mentoring and development of the Client Accounts Team, ensuring delivery of  accurate, timely, and compliant financial management services across a portfolio of complex developments. The team will consist of 7 Client Accountants. The role supports the production of year-end accounts, accurate budgets, client reporting, VAT submissions, and specialist financial processes such as Combined Heat & Power (CHP) reporting.  

Working closely with the Property Team and other internal stakeholders, the Head of Client Accounts plays a key role in ensuring deadlines, KPIs, and client requirements are consistently met, while maintaining high professional standards and building strong working relationships across the business. 

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

Most days you will lead and develop a high‑performing team, review key reconciliations and reports, and steer the close and year‑end cycles to immovable deadlines. You will collaborate with Property Managers and clients, resolve queries with pace and empathy, and drive continuous improvement across systems, controls and processes.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME

  • Leading, coaching and resource‑planning a multi‑disciplinary client accounts team.
  • Managing the full service charge lifecycle: budgets, variance analysis and year‑end packs.
  • Partnering with Property Managers and clients to explain Finance and agree actions.
  • Driving process improvement, controls testing, and system optimisation with Group technology.
  • Coordinating audit requests and responding to complex queries with clear, evidence‑based answers.

EXPERIENCE THAT HELPS

  • Leading client accounting in property management or a similar multi‑client, high‑volume environment.
  • End‑to‑end service charge accounting, including budgeting, reconciliations and year‑end.
  • Building and developing teams, implementing process improvements and supporting audits.
  • Partnering with operational stakeholders and clients to resolve issues and drive outcomes.
