VALUATION SURVEYOR

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a qualified Valuation Surveyor to join Scanlans Consultant Surveyors, undertaking Red Book valuations primarily for secured lending purposes across the West and East Midlands.

This role suits a Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer who enjoys producing technically robust, well-written valuations, backed by strong local market knowledge and a professional, client-led approach.

Scanlans is a long-established, partner-led practice where quality matters. You’ll be trusted to manage your own workload, supported by an experienced team, and given the stability of being part of Trinity Property Group and the wider Odevo Group.

You’ll work across a varied range of asset types including industrial, retail, residential, mixed-use, offices and HMOs, offering genuine variety rather than repetitive single-sector work.

 

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

You will be responsible for undertaking valuations end-to-end, including inspections, analysis and reporting, ensuring compliance with Red Book requirements and lender expectations.

This role requires a high level of accuracy, strong report writing and confidence working independently, balancing inspections, lease analysis and reporting deadlines without compromising quality.

You will work closely with senior colleagues and partners in a supportive environment where standards are high, but the culture remains practical and down-to-earth.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME

Most weeks, you’ll be:

  • Undertaking site inspections and taking accurate measurements
  • Assembling property information and reviewing searches
  • Reviewing and analysing occupational leases and their impact on value
  • Applying strong local knowledge and awareness of the Midlands property market
  • Producing Red Book valuation reports in a timely and consistent manner
  • Valuing a range of assets including industrial, retail, residential, mixed-use, offices and HMOs

 

You’ll work in a flexible way, with a blend of home working and office-based collaboration at Scanlans House in Knowle, alongside regional travel for inspections.

 

WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR

This role suits someone who:

  • Is MRICS or FRICS qualified
  • Holds RICS Registered Valuer status
  • Has a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience
  • Has proven experience producing Red Book valuation reports (secured lending focus)
  • Is confident valuing a range of asset types including industrial, retail, residential, mixed-use, offices and HMOs
  • Is numerate and confident using Microsoft Office
  • Has strong report writing skills and attention to detail
  • Has a strong understanding of the local property market
  • Is organised, professional and able to manage their own workload to deadlines
  • Has a clean PI record
  • Holds a full UK driving licence
