Location: Office Based - Head Office, Hobdens – 41a Beach Road, Littlehampton, BN17 5JA
Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 09:00 - 17:30 and Friday, 09:00 - 17:00
Salary: £24,000 - £24,500 per annum
Contract: 12 month FTC

Hobdens Property Management Ltd are a Managing Agent based in Littlehampton, West Sussex. Formed in 1946, Hobdens have been located in the town ever since. We cover the whole of the Sussex area and surrounding counties, with focus on the coastal area between Portsmouth and Brighton.

Job Description
The Accounts Assistant will provide essential support to the accounts function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and efficient handling of client and internal queries. Key responsibilities include:
Financial Reporting & Enquiries
- Producing and circulating monthly and quarterly financial reports for clients and responding to associated enquiries
- Managing and responding to written queries across multiple mailboxes
- Answering telephone calls and dealing with a wide range of enquiries
- Handling requests and queries from Property Managers and Management
- Providing general support across all accounts administration activities as required
- Prioritising and organising workloads to meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy
- Building effective working relationships with other departments
- Assisting with other brands and project work as required
Banking
- Processing receipts from the daily bank statement
- Processing cheques received and other receipts
- Completing daily bank reconciliations
Invoicing
- Loading budget details
- Issuing service charge, ground rent, and supplementary levy payment requests
- Processing year-end surpluses and deficits
- Processing reallocations
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates for this position should demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Ideally a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a busy accounts team
- Knowledge or experience within the property management industry (Service Charge/Rent) would be an advantage
- Resilient, tenacious, and target-driven with excellent organisational skills
- A strong team player with a good work ethic and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Computer literate, with experience using MS Office, Teams, and a working knowledge of relevant systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
