Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Fire and Health & Safety Risk Assessor to join our expanding surveying team. The role involves conducting site-based risk assessments on clients’ portfolios, covering internal and external common parts.

Our clients are primarily Residential Property Managers overseeing purpose-built residential developments across the UK.

Key responsibilities and tasks include:

  • Conducting Fire and General H&S Risk Assessments according to best industry practices.
  • Producing accurate, timely risk assessments with clear instructions for required works.
  • Liaising with clients to ensure understanding, compliance, and timely resolution of fire-related issues.
  • Assisting clients in creating remedial work schedules if necessary.
  • Attending client meetings when needed.
  • Peer review and validation of works.
  • Providing technical advice aligned with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and relevant H&S legislation.
  • Achieving all set KPI targets.

Key skills and qualifications:

  • CFPA / IFE Level 3 or 4 or equivalent qualification (essential)
  • A full clean driving licence and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety and H&S legislation, technical standards, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience in conducting Fire and H&S Risk Assessments.
  • Professional qualifications in fire safety and risk assessments (e.g., Fire Protection Association, Fire Industry Association, NEBOSH).
  • Professional qualifications in Health & Safety management and risk assessments (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH).
  • Competence to carry out Type 1, 2 & 4 Fire Risk Assessments when required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Understanding of British Standards related to fire and life safety systems and H&S.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships both internally and externally.
